Definitions:
Twin Skin or Built up system:
The roof and cladding system is built up on site by laying liner
panels, structural decking sheets or structural lining trays over
purlins/rails or rafters/columns and then utilising a spacer grid
system to support the weathering sheet over loose laid insulation
(thermal and/or acoustic) and membrane (if required).
Composite Panels:
A Composite panel is any laminated panel that is manufactured from
different materials, permanently bonded together so they act as
a single self-supporting element. Composite panels in the context
of profiled roofing and cladding systems, are building cladding
panels having metal facings to both surfaces with an insulation
core that completely fills the space between the two facings and
is continuously and permanently bonded to both. The term used in
European Standards for this type of factory insulated panel is Sandwich
Panel.
